The date of the Veteran’s Day Parade is Saturday, November
13, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. in Downtown Amarillo on Polk Street.
This year the parade theme is: “Honoring All Who
Served”
Each unit must have a number
in order to be judged.
Your entry number will be listed on the website click here. See map
for line up location/position. Line up starts at 9:00 am, on Saturday, and
everyone must by in place by 10:00 am.
Trophies will be awarded in the top
three categories listed on the application. Winners will be notified by phone and E-mail.
The Parade Marshall/Coordinator
and AES of Amarillo reserve the right to change the station of any parade unit.
- Equestrian Units will be checked prior to the parade and
are required to have manure cleanup or you will not be permitted to
participate in the parade.
- Bands and other parade entries will not be allowed to stop
in front of the reviewing stand.
- Violation of any of the rules for the Veteran’s Day Parade
will subject the entry to removal from the parade.
- Tossing anything from an entry is specifically prohibited.
- No parade crashing will be permitted.
- Vehicle Entries – (All wheels must remain on the ground).
- The use of air horns and or sirens will not be permitted.
The Parade Committee reserves the
right to remove any parade entry from the parade they deem unsuitable, objectionable,
or in rule Violation. All entries will be screened at the beginning of the
parade. The Parade Committee assumes no responsibility for accidents sustained
by spectators resulting from actions of parade participants, their animals, vehicles
or floats. All participants enter and participate in at their own risk.
